Resources for Tulsa & Surrounding Areas for Mental Health & Other Needs

This past Wednesday, December 7th, Brookhaven Hospital hosted an informative seminar entitled "Resources for Tulsa & Surrounding Areas for Mental Health & Other Needs." The seminar, one of several professional luncheons (1st Wednesday of each month) offered by the hospital, brought together a wide variety of Therapists, Counselors and Social Workers throughout Tulsa. Mike Brose MSW, the Executive Director of the Mental Health Association in Tulsa, provided attendees with vital information on some of the programs offered by MHAT. In particular, Mr. Brose discussed MHAT's Housing Program and some alarming statistics about the homeless population in Tulsa, OK. The following is an excerpt of MHAT housing vision:

"Every day hundreds of people with mental illnesses wander the streets of Tulsa. They are homeless. Many feel hopeless. The Mental Health Association in Tulsa's Housing Program offers them hope... and help. The Association is working to eliminate and prevent homelessness of people with mentally illnesses throughout Tulsa County."
