Brookhaven Chosen as Research Consultant

Recently, several staff members of Brookhaven Hospital were chosen to meet with researchers from the Police Executive Research Forum (PERF), a branch of the Department of Justice.

During a lengthy interview process, staff members shared about their experiences treating individuals with substance abuse problems, with a particular focus on methamphetamine addiction.

In the past, PERF researchers have used interviews as a means of creating public campaigns meant to lower drug abuse throughout the country. Brookhaven Hospital offered valuable insight into the effects of addressing and incorporating spiritual issues into treatment for addicted individuals. PERF researchers are currently exploring various means to bring awareness and services to those whose lives are affected by addiction.

We're proud to be recognized as an important voice in the mental health community and will continue to help build awareness about mental health disorders and treatment.
