Army Earns Bad Marks for Mental Health Treatment

National Public Radio aired a scathing indictment of the Army's treatment of its soldiers who seek mental health treatment. In short, they're belittled, ridiculed, and otherways disgraced. To add insult to illness, the soldiers often have little to no recourse in seeking emergency help, as army clinics often cite waiting periods of several weeks:

But an NPR investigation at Colorado's Ft. Carson has found that even those who feel desperate can have trouble getting the help they need. In fact, evidence suggests that officers at Ft. Carson punish soldiers who need help, and even kick them out of the Army.
