Synopsis:

Borderline personality disorder is widely considered the most difficult to treat diagnosis faced by the mental heath community. Co-occurring borderline characteristics are associated with treatment failure for a broad range of Axis I conditions and BPD is responsible for more health care dollars than any other psychiatric condition. Unitl recent years, the diagnosis has been considered "untreatable" by many professionals. During his presentation, Dr. Riggenbach shared some of the latest strategies and techniques from a variety of empirically supported therapeutic modalities. Participants left the seminar with practical easy to implement interventions to utilize with patients.

Jeff Riggenbach, Ph.D.

Jeff Riggenbach, PhD, LPC, is a licensed professional counselor in the state of Oklahoma, currently practicing at Laureate Psychiatric Clinic and Hospital, one of the nation’s premiere psychiatric facilities. He is the developer and coordinator of Laureate’s cognitive-behavioral based borderline personality disorder treatment program. Dr. Riggenbach has spent the last several years researching and practicing cognitive-behavioral therapy, developing specific expertise in cognitive treatment of personality disorders. He has completed training with the Beck Institute of Cognitive Therapy, is a member of their speaker’s bureau, and is certified with the Academy of Cognitive Therapy. Jeff practices CBT on a daily basis in his clinical work in both individual and group settings. Additionally, Dr. Riggenbach's seminars on CBT routinely receive the highest marks in terms of professional knowledge, practical application, and entertainment value.
