Brookhaven's Seminar Snapshots "Pregnancy & Behavioral Health Issues" Presenter: Colleen Ayres-Griffin, LPC, LADC Date: Nov. 7th 2007 Synopsis: In her presentation Colleen Ayres-Griffin discussed the prevalence of behavioral health issues among pregnant women, the impact of those problems on the pregnancy and simple screening methods to assist in the identification of behavioral health problems. Colleen prompted discussion among attendees concerning the need for behavioral health providers to open avenues of communication with medical providers in order to take advantage of the mothers’ increased level of medical care.
