Understanding the symptoms, problems, and negative cycles that shame causes provides self-awareness and healing. During her presentation, Angela Linger reviewed theories of shame, helping participants define and understand shame. Additionally, treatments centered on affirmation, forgiveness / self-forgiveness, and esteem building were discussed. |

Angela Linger is a Northeastern State University graduate who works as a therapist at Brookhaven Hospital. Angela’s experience includes working with behavioral, CD and eating disorder patients, as well as having worked with the homeless, children’s supervised visits, and LPC supervision.
