Brookhaven's Seminar Snapshots "Ethical Perspectives on Counseling Multicultural Populations" Presenter: Dorothy Millican-Wynn, Ph.D Date: March 7, 2007 Synopsis: Dr. Wynn's presentation focused on ethical perspectives mental health professionals have to come to terms with; it is their moral and professional responsibility to become aware of biases, sterotypes, and assumptions that underlay their practice, and to become aware of cultural differences in different client populations, and to develop appropriate intervention strategies which take into account social, cultural, historical, and environmental influences of culturally different clients.
