CEO

Rolf B. Gainer, Ph.D., Diplomate ABDA is the Chief Executive Office at Brookhaven Hospital and the Vice President of Rehabilitation Institutes of America. He is the founder of the Neurologic Rehabilitation Institute of Ontario (Canada). Dr. Gainer is a psychologist who has been involved in the design and operation of treatment programs since 1977. He has published numerous articles on mental health and rehabilitation topics and has presented at many international conferences. He remains active in outcome research.

Medical Staff

Stephen Harnish, MD is the Medical Director of Brookhaven Hospital. He is board certified in psychiatry, and is a graduate of Dartmouth Medical School. He has operated as both a staff psychiatrist and medical director at several organizations across the U.S. and has also been a previous director at Brookhaven. Dr. Harnish is a member of the American Psychiatric Association and is well known in Oklahoma for his informative radio and television appearances.

Liphard D'Souza, MD is the Co-Medical Director of Brookhaven's Neurologic Rehabilitation Institute at Brookhaven. Dr D'Souza holds multiple board certifications in Neurology. He obtained his medical training at St. John's Medical College in Bangalor, India, and was an Associate Professor at Oral Roberts University School of Medicine at the City of Faith Hospital. He has worked in hospital, agency and private practice settings for over 32 years.

Chisoo Choi, MD is an Internal Medicine Consultant for Brookhaven and the Renewal Christian Care Program. He is board certified in Internal Medicine. Dr. Choi graduated from Rush Medical College in Chicago and was a Clinical Assistant Professor at the University of Oklahoma School of Medicine and the Oral Roberts University School of Medicine.

Jeffery K. McIlroy, MD is the Medical Consultant for the Neurologic Rehabilitation Institue of Brookhaven Hospital. Dr. McIlroy is a graduate of the University of Oklahoma Medical School and a board certified psychiatrist. In addition to his directorships at Brookhaven, Dr. McIlroy is the Medical Director of the Senior Care Unit at Claremore Regional Hospital.

Deb Brantly, MS, CNS, LMFT, is a Clinical Nurse Specialist for Brookhaven Hospital. She has manyyears of experience as a Clinical Nurse Specialist in a mental health setting and received her Master of Science (Psychiatric Nursing) from the University of Oklahoma.

Behavioral Health Services

Ron Broughton, M Ed, LPC is the Clinical Director of Behavioral Health Services and Admissions at Brookhaven. He received an M Ed from the University of Central Oklahoma. He is a Licensed Professional Counselor and is also licensed to supervise LPC candidates. Ron has worked extensively with severely mentally ill patients in community mental health and inpatient settings. He has written several academic papers on schizophrenia and psychosis, and has conducted numerous mental health presentations and workshops. Faith Sellen, PhD is a Clinical Psychologist and therapist at Brookhaven Hospital. She is a graduate of Louisiana State University. Dr. Sellen has worked in community mental health, adolescent chemical dependency, dual diagnosis treatment of adults, and outpatient mental health/chemical dependency services.

Angela Linger, MS, LPC is a therapist for Brookhaven Hospital. She completed her Masters Degree at Northeastern State University. Ms. Linger has experience working with children and adults at various agencies in the Tulsa, OK area.

Clarissa Siragusa, LCSW is an outpatient counselor at Brookhaven Hospital. She received her degree from Wichita State University. An experienced therapist, Clarissa has worked in numerous mental health settings, ranging from pediatric to geriatric care. She also has extensive experience in private practice as well.

Matt Maxey, RN, BSN, is the Director of Nursing at Brookhaven Hospital. He received his degree from the University of Central Oklahoma. Mr. Maxey has experience in care centers and hospitals.

E Marie Scribner, MSW, LCSW, is director of social work for Brookhaven Hospital. She received her Masters in Social Work from the University of Oklahoma and has experience with many different therapy modalities and treatment planning. E Marie worked as a social worker for Tulsa Public Schools and DHS for the past 13 years.

Shay Watkins, BA, is a social worked for Brookhaven Hospital. She obtained her degree in psychology from the University of Tulsa and has experience in community-building activities and programs.

Stephanie Maruska, MA, is the Admissions Coordinator for Brookhaven. She received her Masters degree in Counseling and Guidance from New York University, and a B.A. in Psychology from the University of Minnesota. Stephanie has provided counseling services to a variety of individuals in clinical and academic settings.

Rachel Tracy, MS is an Admissions Counselor for Brookhaven Hospital. She completed her Masters Degree at Northeastern State University.

Kerri Buerker, MS is an Admissions Counselor for Brookhaven Hospital. She completed her Masters Degree at Northeastern State University.

Sherrill Scott, is an Admissions Counselor for Brookhaven Hospital. She completed her Masters Degree from the Oklahoma City University. She has over 15 years experience in direct service.

Deborah Steen, is an outpatient counselor at Brookhaven Hospital. She received her Bachelors from Oklahoma Christian College.

Merle Brock, is a Weekend Therapist for Brookhaven Hospital. He received his Masters from Oklahoma State University.

Carol O'Bryan, is a Weekend Therapist for Brookhaven Hospital. She received her Masters from the University of Missouri.

Neurologic Rehabilitation Institute

Pamela Washbourne, Phd (Cand.) is the Neurologic Rehabilitation Institute Program Director at Brookhaven as well as a Licensed Speech and Language Pathologist. She received MS and BS degrees from the University of Tulsa. She holds a Clinical Certificate of Competence from the American Speech and Hearing Association with additional coursework in Neurology of Behavior at Harvard University. Pamela has treated children and adults with a wide variety of disorders including traumatic brain injury, neurological disorders, autism, hearing disabilities, dysphasia, and aphasia. She is currently completing a PhD in Communicative Disorders, specializing in Neurology at the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center.

Shelly Trout. OTR-L, brings over 18 years of experience to her position as Occupational Therapist in the Neurologic Rehabilitation Institute at Brookhaven. She obtained a BS in Occupational Therapy at the University of Oklahoma.

Doug Graham is a Job Coach and Certified CPI Trainer. He has worked in the Neurologic Rehabilitation Institute at Brookhaven for over 10 years. Doug received his training at Rogers State University.

Specialty Services and Consultants

Melani Riley, RD is the Food and Nutrition Manager at Brookhaven. She is responsible for the nutrition needs of patients and oversees the Dietary Department. She also conducts meal planning and nutrition groups forthe Rader Eating Disorders Program.

Liz Lamers, MBA, MA, LPC is Director of Utilization Review at Brookhaven. She has a BS in Psychology from Duke University, with a certificate in Neuroscience. She has an MA in Clinical Psychology from the University of Tulsa, and an MBA from Oklahoma State University. Liz is a Licensed Professional Counselor, who has worked in psychiatric hospital settings for over 5 years, focusing on counseling and utilization review.

Darla Tipps, DPh is the Pharmacist at Brookhaven. She obtained her BS in Pharmacy at Southwestern Oklahoma State University, and has extensive expertise in hospital pharmacology and home infusion.


Chaplains

Robert Wester, MDIV MA is Senior Chaplain atBrookhaven Hospital and the RENEWAL programs. Chaplain Wester conducts daily devotional services and offers pastoral counseling to clients in the RENEWAL program. He has degrees in Counseling and Divinity from Oral Roberts University. Chaplain Wester has served on a number of advocacy boards for people with mental illness and has co-chaired the Mental Health and Substance Abuse Advisory of Tulsa.

Associate Chaplains

Michelle Mitchell is a Graduate of Global University with a degree in Biblical Studies and is an ordained minister. Mrs. Mitchell has worked with Tulsa Mental Health Association and had been a teacher for a prison ministry with Calvary Temple.

Bernard Hubbard is a Graduate of Appalachian State with a Bachelors Degree in Marketing and Management. He is currently pursuing a Masters Degree of Divinity at Oral Roberts University.

Brookhaven Hospital is honored to be an integral part of internship training programs for students at the University of Oklahoma, Northeastern State University, Langston University, Oral Roberts University, Platt College, TCC, and Career Point Institute. We provide professional training and development for nurses, masters-level therapists, occuptational therapy assistants, medical secretaries and health information clerks.
