Resiliency allows a person to respond and bounce back from difficult or traumatic situations. Stephen Southwick, professor of psychiatry at Yale, argues that resiliency is not genetic, but rather a learned characteristic that can help anyone through the grieving process.

Check out USA Weekend for the “10 factors to bouncing back effectively”, of which, Southwick says “social support is one of the most important in developing resiliency.”
