Brookhaven’s own Outreach Coordinator, Johnathan Hines recently published a book titled “Overcoming Stress: From a Cook Point View Point”.  Johnathan’s book addresses the main causes of stress in an easy layout that allows individuals to identify, address and overturn the negativity related to stress into something that is manageable and easily able to be conquered. As a Licensed Clinical Christian Counselor and a Certified Professional Life Coach, Johnathan was  able to incorporate his professional and spiritual guidance to aide those in their endeavor to a life of tranquility.

Did you know there are 9 main causes of stress?

  • Work-Related Stress
  • Stress Due to Relationships Problems
  • Stress Caused by Worrying about Money
  • Stress Caused by Worrying and Health
  • Stress Due to the Death of a Loved One
  • Stress Caused by Worrying About Your Body Image
  • Change-Induced Stress
  • Stressing about Your Life’s True Purpose
  • Stress Is All in the Mind

This book was written to help people to deal with these 9 main stressors.  There are many ways through which stress can be managed, even overcome.  This book will demonstrate in very specific ways some steps one may take to conquer stress due to financial difficulties, self-esteem issues, relationship problems, and many stress inducing issues. It intends to show that there is a logical solution to many of the problems that give us grief and that if we take the time to follow these suggested solutions, we can be better off in our quest to live stress-free lives.

The hope is that people will see how the words of God, as expressed in the Bible, and the recommendations from many reputable psychologists and counselors meld together to help us overcome our individual problems and struggles. By no means is this book a be-all, end-all guide to all stressors in life, But if one takes the time to read and meditate on the lessons presented here, they will provide help and guidance for dealing with the causes and effects of stress in its many forms.

The ultimate goal is to find perspective. It’s not as difficult as you may think.
