Depression has both healthy and pathological functions, and it is important for mental health professionals to understand how to work with both characteristics of depression.
In “Depression, A Motivational Force,” Dr. Armentrout discusses the scope and prevalance of depression, the various types of depression, as well as the different treatment options currently available. Armentrout also addresses the topic of depression as it intersects with personal spirituality and religion.
