Seminar Date: December 3, 2008
Presented By: Joseph M. Schwartz, PhD
We have all been taught “what to do” as therapists, but how often are we instructed in “what not to do?” During his presentation Dr. Schwartz used Jay Haley’s framework to create an awareness of some surefire ways of “how to fail as a therapist.” Dr. Schwartz, additionally, challenged attendees to increase awareness of their own therapeutic behaviors and to reexamine their own therapeutic underpinnings that may not be productive.
