Presented By: Judith K. Adams, Ph.D.
The stages of change theory for counseling has rapidly been accepted as an effective and innovative meta-theory regarding assessing, augmenting, and utilizing client readiness to change. The method of motivational interviewing incorporates the stages of change model and allows counselors to utilize the client’s own readiness or lack of readiness to change in the counseling process. During her presentation Judith Adams, Ph.D., presented the theoretical basis for this insightful and transforming method of counseling.
