Self mutilation is growing at an alarming rate among teens and adults. This seminar explored why people often feel the need to self mutilate and explained alternatives to self injury.
The goals of this seminar:
- Help seminar participants to understand why people hurt themselves.
- Help seminar participants to teach their clients/patients alternatives to self injury.
Featured speakers:

Lori Pede graduated from Broken Arrow High School in 2005. She received the 2004 Education Award from the Mental Health Association in Tulsa and the 2005 MPower Youth Award from the National Mental Health Association. She is persuing her degree in Psychology at Northeastern State’s Broken Arrow campus.

Emily is majoring in Psychology at the College of St. Katherine in St. Paul, Minnesota.
